How to Upload Physical Documents

Steps

1) Download the App

Go to the app store of your choice and search for "Adobe Scan". Find the app the matches the image below and click "Download".

2) Sign in with BYU email

Once the app has downloaded, open it. When it opens, you will be presented with several sign in options. Chose the options that says "sign in with email". When prompted, enter your BYU email and enter your BYU credentials.


After logging in, you will be brought to the the app's main interface. At this point, it may ask for permission to use your phone camera. Click Allow.

3) Scan Document

Now that camera permissions have been granted, the app will be able to scan documents. To scan, place the desired document in a well lit area. Tap the screen and allow the app to auto crop to the document size. Once the app has cropped, hold still while the scan is captured.

[!TIP] For the best quality scans, ensure there is high contrast between the document and the background. For example, the document in the image above is placed on a black desk, ensuring maximum contrast.

4) Cleanup Document

With the document captured, the app will now prompt you to adjust the cropped image. You can do this by dragging the dots and boxes along the capture box until it fits your document. If no cleanup is needed, click the "Continue Scan" button and repeat steps 3 through 5 until entire document is scanned.

5) Share Document

Once the document is scanned, you can click the share button and share using any method you choose.

[!WARNING] Email sends documents without encryption, so be careful when sharing documents that contain sensitive information.
